Walkers Raise Over a Half Million for Local Patient Services
			Checks were still coming throughout the Fall,  long after the Walk to Defeat ALS ® ended, bringing our totals to well over a record-breaking $540,800.    We read what people posted online, on their personal Walk webpages, as well as Facebook and Twitter. During phone conversations and chats,  it became clear to us in the weeks just prior to the Walks began that we were experiencing an uptick in community involvement like never before.  Was it the breakthroughs in Research that inspired folks to press on? Was it an increase in friends and family members who felt the urge to just DO SOMETHING to make a difference? We believe it was the combination of several factors. On pages 8 and 9 we share brief highlights from the hundreds of inspiring stories from “the Walk.”

			The ALS Association Evergreen Chapter owes much of its successful fundraising to its team of enthusiastic volunteers.Whether you have talent, brawn, brains, or you just have a desire to make a difference, we can find a niche just for you. While you’re helping us, you’re also helping yourself by making new friends, developing new skills, building your resume, fulfilling educational requirements or just plain having fun.
