Volunteers are of immeasurable value to PALS, caregivers, families and friends. The contributions of volunteers are essential for our chapter to achieve its mission. Each year, our Chapter participates in numerous fundraising and information-based opportunities throughout our area. These activities create a multitude of tasks with which volunteers can easily assist, including administrative work and mailings, helping at various events and with patient services.
If you are interested in learning how your time and talent can make a difference, please CLICK HERE to visit our VOLUNTEER HOMEPAGE, or contact Candi Thomas, Volunteer Manager at 425-656-1650 or candi@alsa-ec.org.

Announcing the “Anthony Falcone Memorial Fund for Advocacy.” This fund will primarily be used to create awareness and support of Advocacy efforts on behalf of ALS patients and their families and caregivers.
“Many years ago, I took my first trip to Capitol Hill with Anthony Falcone and Jacqueline and Becky Moore. Anthony was still able to walk on his own then. We met up with the east coast contingent of the Falcone family. Who could keep up with them? Not only because of the imposing height inherent in their stature, but these people were on a mission and I was simply caught up in their amazing journey. We met with all the congressmen and senators from Washington state and then moved on to New York . I just tagged along, fearing I would get lost and never find my way out of the maze of congressional office buildings. Jacqueline, Anthony, and his family never fatigued. They were, and always have been, my mentors in advocacy. I learned from them to hit the ground running. The mantra that I live by: “Don't waste a precious moment of time when you're in the presence of a lawmaker.” Launch into why you're there and be clear about what you want. I've been working on the technique for six years now, but nobody could do it better than Anthony and Jacqueline. Together they were awe-inspiring, a perfect team. The only reason that people weren't intimidated by them, politicians included, was that they were far too warm and approachable.
In those early years, Anthony and Jacqueline blazed the trail into DC for us. Most people we met with had no idea what ALS was. Because of the foundation they built, and their hard work, we can now go into any congressional office in our service area and people will remember us from the years before and anticipate why we've come.”
